Our Information Governance team focuses on helping our clients protect their business in today’s evolving landscape by applying advanced and strategic approaches to information management. We focus on assisting organisations manage vast amounts of electronic data and navigate the legal and business processes demanded by critical events, which includes litigation, regulatory requests and internal investigations. Our team helps our clients understand their current capabilities and assist in the implementation of governance controls to effectively mitigate information risk and maximise exploitation of their information assets.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills:

Demonstrates extensive knowledge and/or a proven record of success managing projects relating to the design and management of ontologies, taxonomies, controlled vocabularies, and knowledge graphs that support client use cases.

Required:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience designing and managing taxonomies, ontologies and knowledge graphs based on client use cases;

  • Experience collaborating with business and technology stakeholders to effectively design taxonomies and ontologies;

  • Ability to facilitate working sessions with business and technology stakeholders to capture domain and data knowledge;

  • Demonstrated experience integrating taxonomies and ontologies across the enterprise to support client use cases;

  • Strong communication skills including the ability to articulate and effectively present taxonomy and ontology designs in business-friendly manner;

  • Knowledge and experience developing and advising on taxonomy and ontology governance; 

  • Ability to conduct heuristic reviews and usability testing leveraging tools such as Optimal Workshop Treejack or OptimalSort;

  • Strong understanding of data and metadata and ability to identify, create, or retrieve necessary data and metadata using SQL or SPARQL;

  • Understands and has practical experience with semantic standards such as RDF, OWL, SKOS, SPARQL, SHACL, JSON-LD, XML;

  • Experience with leveraging taxonomies within common document management and collaboration platforms such as Microsoft 365, Google Workplace, and OpenText;

  • Experience working in a variety of different business domains from various industries and effectively model with attained knowledge; 

  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a broader team demonstrating strong communication to ensure project objectives are met;

  • Identify and address client needs by building relationships with clients, demonstrating flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks, and resolving potential conflicts as a leader;

  • Manage a team and/or work stream on engagement(s), development of staff, business development, and communications with executives;

  • Lead project planning, engagement administration, budget management, and the successful completion of engagement work streams;

  • Manage business development opportunities and/or engagements from pre-sale and initial scoping through final delivery and sign-off;

  • Collaborate with business development teams responsible for writing and presenting proposals to prospective clients;

Desired Knowledge/Skills:

  • Previous experience developing taxonomy and ontology methodologies and standards with incorporation of industry best practices;

  • Experience working in Agile environments;

  • Experience with a variety of semantic technologies including Smartlogic, PoolParty, TopQuadrant EDG, Protege, Smartlogic, etc.;

  • Identify new solutions and services, providing a business case on whether the firm should develop skills and vendor relations within new semantic solutions and technologies;
